    Loretta Weinberg (born February 6, 1935) is an American Democratic Partypolitician. She was a member of the New Jersey Senate from 2005 to 2022. She was also the State Senate Majority Leader from 2012 to 2022. Weinberg was a member of the New Jersey General Assembly from 1992 to 2005.

    Weinberg was the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey in the 2009 election. She ran as GovernorJon Corzine's running mate. Corzine and Weinberg lost the election to the RepublicanChris Christie and Kim Guadagno ticket.

    Weinberg was born in New York City. She studied at the University of California, Berkeley and at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
