Samir Geagea Biographie
- Samir Geagea was born on October 25, in Ain al-Remaneh, a suburb of Beirut, to a family of modest means from the northern town of Bsharre.
Samir Geagea est né le 25 Octobre 1952 à Ain al-Remaneh, une banlieue de Beyrouth, dans une famille modeste d’une ville septentrionale, Bcharré. Son père, Farid Geagea, était un adjudant dans les Forces armées libanaises, et sa mère était une femme au foyer. Samir a grandi avec une soeur, Nouhad, et un frère, Joseph, qui ocupe actuellement le poste de vice-président intérimaire et CIO à l’Université du Maryland aux États-Unis.
Geagea a terminé son éducation formelle à l’écoles publique d’Ain al-Remaneh, où ses performances scolaires lui ont permis d’entrer à l’Université américaine de Beyrouth (AUB), à l’École de médecine et avec une bourse de la Fondation Gebran Khalil Gebran.
Le déclenchement de la guerre civile libanaise en 1975 a interrompu les études de Samir à l’AUB. Le campus, situé à l’ouest de Beyrouth, est tombé sous le contrôle des milices hostiles, forçant Samir à se transférer à l’école de médecine
